Student design competition with sports and botany themes
POPAI Hungary has organised its sixth display design competition for university students.
The main sponsor of the POPAI Student Design Awards is traditionally SPAR and this time the theme sponsor was Coca-Cola HBC Magyarország. The jury of experts was looking for creative, innovative, yet feasible point-of-purchase designs in the following three categories: Perfect Mix Display (1 pallet), Kinley Display (1/4 pallet), and Powerade Display (1/4 pallet). The natural, botanical qualities of the Kinley brand and the sporty, active world of Powerade had an influence on the display designs.
Spring schedule
In February the students presented their initial ideas, which were evaluated by a jury consisting of Tamás Harmati and Dorka Kalmár from Coca-Cola HBC, Bernadett Rácz, Regina Németh and Georgina Talabos from DISPLAYGYÁR, and Ildikó Kátai from POPAI – they also gave provided personalised guidance on how to proceed.
In the second round of the professional evaluation, on 22 May 2025 Zalán Nagy joined the jury on behalf of Coca-Cola HBC. In the final round the students presented their ideas with 3D and video illustrations. Results were officially announced on 30 May 2025, at an award ceremony organised by Coca-Cola HBC in Dunaharaszti.
There was also a factory tour led by Hugó Jezerniczky, allowing the students to learn about the various production processes.
