This year, the total value of trade in social media may reach one thousand billion dollars, and the number of customers may reach 5 billion, Deloitte told MTI.
The international consulting company explained the significant increase, estimated at 25 percent compared to last year, with the new consumer experience provided by social platforms. These websites now also offer shopping opportunities combined with simple digital payment and the experience of random product discovery, they wrote.
According to the announcement, the keys to sales are internet opinion leaders (influencers) and content producers who use their influence to promote products. Demand jumped during covid, one-third of Americans depend on one of the Internet content producers for their purchasing decisions. Even more people said that they first looked at a product through social media, they added, referring to a survey.
