In July, the value of exports in euros was 10.0, while imports were 14.7 percent higher than a year before. The foreign trade balance deteriorated by 379 million euros, compared to July last year and turned into a deficit of 193 million euros, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday based on its first estimate.

Import continues to grow dynamically

The trade balance closed last April with a deficit of 558 million euros.

Exports amounted to 9.498 billion euros in July and imports to 9.691 billion euros. Compared to June, the value of exports fell by 9.5 percent and that of imports by 1.8 percent, which may have been due to the decline in the performance of heavy-duty vehicle production, according to industrial production data.

Exports measured in euros were 5.4 percent and imports 8.5 percent higher than in July 2019. (MTI)
