The 13th Avas Borangolás (Avas Borang Festival) in Miskolc starts on Thursday
This year, the Avas Wine Festival will be held in Miskolc, where visitors can discover selected wines from 92 wineries and delicacies from 52 gastronomic service providers at more than 120 locations on the slopes of Avas Hill near the city center, the organizers told MTI on Wednesday.
The free-to-attend event will be held between May 8 and 11 in the county seat, where “local artisanal delicacies, traditional dishes and gastronomic specialties will accompany the wines”. Among others, the Dudás Winery in Mátra, the Agárd Pálinka Distillery, the Bolyki Szőlőbirtok in Eger, the Kisfalucska Borok in Tokaj and the Avasi Présház will also be represented.
In terms of food, visitors will be able to choose from the offerings of Borsod burger, Kisfalucska Udvarház és Bisztró, Rossita, Gasztrokakas and Rozmaring Stúdió, among others. The gastronomic experience will be enriched by live music and cultural programs taking place at 25 locations, which “offer a musical and artistic experience worthy of the atmosphere of Avas” – they wrote.
Bands such as Sky Fanatic, Kerekes Band or Bohemian Betyars will also perform at the festival, but János Kardos-Horváth and Ági Szalóki will also give concerts. According to the organizers, the goal of the Avas Borangolás is to popularize wine culture and create a community experience.
Families can also find a suitable program for them at the 13th Avas Borangolás, as the festival ends with a family day. On Sunday, May 11th, from 10 a.m., under the motto Avas is for children, the organizing company will welcome families with “magical programs” at the foot of the Avas lookout tower, on Horváth-tető.
