Global sales of smartphones declined in the first quarter of this year
The company estimates that a total of 1 billion 540 million 657 thousand smartphones were sold worldwide last year, down 1 percent from the previous year.
In the first three months of this year, which ended at the end of March, Samsung sold 55 million 333,000 handsets, 22.7 percent less than a year before. Nevertheless, the company maintained its market leadership position with 18.5 percent, although this is lower than the 19.1 percent of a year before. (MTI)
