Retail trade in the euro area has declined
In August, instead of expected growth, the retail sector’s turnover in the euro area was reduced on a monthly basis, according to a report published by Eurostat on Wednesday.
In August, compared with July, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail sales in the 19 euro area Member States decreased by 0.2 percent, but it did not change in the 28 Member States of the European Union.
In the previous month, in July, the volume of retail sales decreased by 0.6 percent in the euro area, and by 0.2 percent in the EU, on a monthly basis – according to the European Union’s Statistical Institute. (MTI)
