Due to its declining profits, Nestlé is preparing for further price increases
The Swiss Nestlé, one of the world’s leading food industry companies, ended last year with a pre-tax profit of 9.3 billion francs, which is a significant 45.2 percent decrease compared to 2021.
Nestlé’s after-tax profit of 9.3 billion francs last year fell short of analysts’ forecasts of 11.58 billion francs. The company’s global revenue increased by 8.4 percent to 94.4 billion Swiss francs, falling short of the 95.02 billion francs expected by analysts.
The 8.3 percent increase in organic sales (cleaned from the effects of corporate acquisitions) can be attributed to a 0.1 percent increase in sales volume and an 8.2 percent increase in prices.
