Almost 50 tons of food was seized by the Nébih in recent months
More than 47 tonnes of fake or poor quality food and 107,000 liters of other products were withdrawn from circulation by the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) during the OPSON VI. In international operation against food counterfeiting – Helik Ferenc, head of the Nébih’s Priority Cases Directorate announced on Tuesday at the press conference of the agency.
He added that within the action, took part between December 2016 and March 2017, the authorities of the participating 61 countries seized 9800 tonnes of food and 26.4 million liters of other goods – a total of 13 million products, with a total value of 230 Million euros. The action was coordinated by Europol and Interpol. (MTI)
