The Adni Öröm charity school kit helps nearly 1,600 disadvantaged children start school
In total, customers helped disadvantaged families start school with around 71,000 school supplies at the fourth Give Joy! event organized by SPAR and the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service. in the action of collecting school supplies. The supporters also bought donation cards worth HUF 1.4 million, from which the NGO also distributes stationery, notebooks and other school supplies to those in need. In addition, SPAR supported the initiative with HUF one million.
The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and the SPAR Giving Joy! school supplies collection campaign. Between August 21 and 24, 2024, the volunteers of the Charity Service collected school supplies in all INTERSPAR stores in the country: hypermarket customers collected a total of more than 71,000 school supplies – pencils, pens, colored pencil sets, notebook packs, pen holders, drawing sets, school bags, gym bags – were purchased and offered as part of the charity campaign. From the collected school supplies, the staff of the Charity Service have made full school bags and school supplies packages and will deliver them to families with a difficult fate.
In the other part of the campaign, between July 29 and September 1, 2024, supporters could also help with HUF 500, 1,500, 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 HUF donation cards purchased in the SPAR online shop and INTERSPAR stores. The amount of HUF 1.4 million offered here will also be converted into school supplies, which will also be delivered to children with a difficult fate, as well as to children from cumulatively disadvantaged families who attend Maltese schools. SPAR Hungary added HUF 1 million to the donations so that even more students in need could benefit from school supplies.
