The European Commission on Agriculture is holding its meeting in Budapest
Land and soil degradation, nutritional problems, innovative solutions in the field of family farming and social protection are just some of the highlighted themes that will be discussed at the two-day meeting of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Committee. At the event, representatives from more than 30 countries will take part.
The protection of soil and land management activities are the central elements of FAO's fight against hunger, in order to ensure sufficient food despite the expected population growth. The United Nations declared this year as the International Year of Soil. Worldwide, one third of the land is already in poor condition. (tozsdeforum.hu)
