By the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, passenger traffic could reach the volume before the coronavirus pandemic – the communications manager of Budapest Airport on Friday told M1 news channel.

Valentinyi Katalin said that May was already more favorable than the previous months, they had 22 thousand passengers in the whole month, which is a 98 percent decrease compared to the 1.5 million passengers in May last year.

As she recalled, 153 destinations were available from Budapest in January, which was reduced to two or three cities in April and currently about 20 cities. Flights to several, typically European capitals, will resume in June, and Gulf airlines and Chinese flights are expected to resume in July, she added. (MTI)
