Budapest will host the European Ecological Farming Congress in September
This year, Budapest will host the European Organic Congress, which will be held on September 10-12. will be held in Vigado in Pest – the Ecological Agricultural Research Institute informed MTI on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, the event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the European Association of Organic Farmers (IFOAM Organics Europe) and the Ecological Agricultural Research Institute (ÖMKi) as part of the official program of the EU Presidency.
As it was written, the international conference discusses topics that are timely and of prime importance for the organic farming sector, engaging in a dialogue with actors in the supply chain, producers, processors, traders, researchers and high-level policy makers.
“The European Union’s goal is to have organic farming on 25 percent of the member states’ agricultural land by 2030, which currently has just exceeded 10 percent, so the sector has challenging years ahead of it”
– the announcement quotes Dóra Drexler, managing director of ÖMKi, vice president of IFOAM Organics Europe, who says that this is why it is a great opportunity for Hungary to host the conference.
