In warehouse automation the European market is the second biggest in the world: the 7-percent growth was driven mainly by e-commerce.

logistics solutions
SSI SCHÄFER
Márton Palasik, SSI SCHÄFER’s head of sales for logistics solutions told Trade magazin: SSI SCHÄFER’s automated storage and retrieval system is the market leader in both Hungary and Europe. What is more, the company’s WAMAS® logistics software integrates all intralogistics elements into an intelligent system, offering a modular solution to partners. With the help of the software more efficient warehouses can be designed, which also include open interfaces for full communication with the ERP system. The goal of the company’s LIGHTHOUSE® software control system is to make warehouse processes better and more productive.
Pioneering role in the market

Zoltán Horváth
managing director
Jungheinrich
Intralogistics, especially storage became more important in the last 12 months, as the warehousing market transformed. Thanks to the dynamic development of e-commerce, smaller shipping units need to be managed and order picking now plays a more vital role.
We learned from Zoltán Horváth, managing director of Jungheinrich that the company has a pioneering role in the electric forklift segment: in 2017 they were the first to introduce the lithium ion technology in the Hungarian market. The managing director added that the digitalisation of tasks is crucial in the logistics and warehousing sector. Jungheinrich carries on with expanding its automated solutions portfolio. Digital products include warehouse, fleet and battery management systems, security and assistance systems.
They pack sustainably

György Greksza
PackRight Centre
manager
DS Smith
For DS Smith sustainability has been one of the strategic pillars of the company’s operations for a long time. DS Smith’s experience is that more and more partners want sustainable packaging solutions.
György Greksza, DS Smith’s PackRight Centre manager spoke to our magazine about ParceLive, their new transportation innovation for tracking and analysing external factors affecting the parcel or packaging in the supply chain. DS Smith uses the results in designing supply chain specific packaging solutions. The company developed a new method, called DISCS, for testing e-commerce packaging designs: this can be used for specifying how much the given design is suitable for e-commerce use.
Warehouses without paper documents

Szabolcs Fülöp
managing director
Trans-Sped
Last year Trans-Sped Kft. introduced a new warehouse management system that can satisfy special partner needs, as a reaction to the coronavirus-induced surge in e-commerce logistics tasks. The company also established an automated data transfer connection with delivery partners and customers in the e-commerce sector.
Managing director Szabolcs Fülöp revealed that they adopted Webshippy’s system for supporting the company’s e-commerce fulfilment work. Thanks Trans-Sped’s new, modern warehouse management system, there is no need for paper documents any more. The stock management process is much more accurate and the systems support continuous stock monitoring and automatic storage space allocation. //
