Organic foods in public catering at the 4th Hungarian Gastronomy Day
The 4th Hungarian Gastronomy Day will be held on April 26-27, 2025. The event, which will be held for the fourth time, will be hosted by the Szolnok Campus of the University of Debrecen.
The event, which includes professional competitions, exhibitions and presentations, is primarily organized for the profession, but is open to the public. The organizers welcome all visitors interested in gastronomy, as the many programs and tastings promise a real family program. The Hungarian Bioculture Association will also participate in the event to collect signatures from civil and professional actors for its petition, which it published in order to allow organic foods to appear in public catering as soon as possible. The text of the petition shows that all the material conditions for this are in place in Hungary, the step is just a matter of decision, and it would have a very significant, positive impact on the health of approximately 2 million of our compatriots participating in public catering, a significant part of whom are children and the elderly.
If enough signatures have been collected, the association will submit the petition to the appropriate government forums, and if it is received favorably, its members will do everything they can to professionally and actively support the practical implementation of the process.
