Fertilizer sales were interrupted in the second quarter
In the second quarter, fertilizer sales in Hungary decreased by 44 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while sales prices rose by 2.2-3.8 times – read the quarterly report published on the website of the Agricultural Economics Institute (AKI). A similar price increase was measured for plant protection products in the second quarter, while sales fell by a fifth.
The greatest demand in terms of volume was for lime ammonium nitrate (MAS) and Nitrosol, DAM in the period in question, but a 33 and 54 percent decline was measured for these two fertilizers as well. The largest decline occurred in the case of ammonium nitrate and potassium chloride. However, the demand for superphosphate increased greatly, distributors sold almost 60 times more of it, despite the fact that its price increased by 3.6 times in one year.
Fewer plant protection products were sold
Iranian demand for pesticides fell by 20 percent in the second quarter. For fungicides, the rate of annual price increase was between 5 and 38 percent. Insecticides rose moderately in price. Herbicides rose in price between 9 and 34 percent on average, with the exception of Fozát 480, whose price increased by more than 3.2 times in one year.
