Wage increases and a new bonus system at McDonald’s in Hungary
Due to the challenging labor market situation and persistently high inflation, Progress Restaurant Network Kft. prioritizes the system of wages and incentives in the McDonald’s restaurants it operates. In the restaurant network, wages have already been raised twice this year, multi-level bonus systems have been introduced, moreover, a new incentive system will be launched from December and employees, including contributing students, will also receive a Christmas bonus. The company will achieve all this this year with an expenditure of more than one and a half billion forints.
Progress Restaurant Network Kft. ensures its competitiveness in the labor market with a number of newly implemented wage measures. One of the most recent elements of this is the new incentive starting on December 1, the so-called appearance bonus, which is used to recognize those restaurant colleagues who can be reliably and stably counted on, i.e., for example, they start work on time and complete every shift they have undertaken. This incentive means an increase of nearly 10% in the total salary of the network operated by the company, and for employees, depending on the position and the restaurant, it can correspond to a salary increase of up to 11%.
As a responsible employer, they also consider it important to provide one-time support to their employees before the holiday period, so they pay everyone an extra allowance at the beginning of December. This premium goes to all colleagues already working at the restaurant chain on October 26, regardless of when they joined, whether they work part-time or full-time, and it is given to contributing students as well as permanent employees.
