Chocolate consumption increased significantly in Asia
The price of cocoa beans increased to its three-year peak and an even higher about 10 percent of price increase is expected until the end of the year, due to the growing consumption of chocolate in Asia.
While the per capita demand in 2013 was still the lowest in the world in Asia, the region's average will increase almost twice more than the global market average in the next four years, – the Euromonitor International Ltd. Research Instiotute warns.
The Asian average chocolate consumption was 200 grams per capita per year in 2013. It iss far behind Western Europe’s annual 4.6 kilograms and Australia and New Zealand’s 4.8 kilograms per capita per year value.
