The farmers are waiting for the publication of the new precision application

The domestic agricultural machinery market may achieve outstanding turnover this year, but after that, the sector may experience a downturn. Although manufacturers are waiting for farmers with a number of revolutionary new solutions, due to the uncertain market situation and the lack of subsidies, most of them are holding off on investments. According to the National Chamber of Agriculture and the National Association of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Distributors (MEGFOSZ), the appearance of new tender opportunities can bring back the interest of producers to invest.

The demand for state-of-the-art agricultural machinery is unbroken, thanks to the appearance of the new agricultural generation and the tender opportunities, the interest on the part of producers has continuously increased in recent years, while an increasingly wide range of technological solutions is available.

Machine manufacturers are increasingly oriented towards ecological aspects

Machines that protect the environment and the soil, as well as reduce production costs and the need for human labor, come to the fore. The focus of agricultural machinery production is the development of application accuracy. In the process, innovations are born in the fields of planned crop protection, nutrient supply and sowing. Smart soil cultivation, minimization of soil trampling and reduction of the number of trips are crucial from the point of view of modern machines, just as no-rotation and strip soil cultivation are also of particular importance. In the field of automatic sprayers and fertilizer spreaders, spacing, wind correction and sowing timing are also important aspects during development. By using precision technologies, farmers can improve the efficiency of production, use less fuel and input materials, and in addition to the lower environmental load, the labor requirements of production are also reduced. In recent years, subsidies have also helped the rise of precision technologies, in the framework of the tender announced for this purpose, the farmer had to use a precision service in addition to the purchase of machinery, so thanks to the subsidy, in addition to modern machinery, the producer was able to acquire the knowledge necessary to increase efficiency.

Farmers buy such machines

According to the overview of the National Chamber of Agriculture and the National Association of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Distributors, while the previous years were mainly about the sale of power machines, this year different work machines will come to the fore during the sales. Demand for livestock machinery and telehandlers remains strong. Outstanding traffic is expected on the domestic agricultural machinery market this year, as farmers can take delivery of the machines ordered in the framework of the previous precision tender this year due to transport difficulties. After that, however, experts forecast a decline, as the unfavorable market situation discourages farmers from investing. At the moment, there are no support options either, everyone is waiting for the tenders of the new Common Agricultural Policy. At the same time, it is clear from the ministry’s previous statements that the previous legal titles will also be available in the new support cycle, so it is likely that the Ministry of Agriculture will re-announce the precision tender as well. The application is very much needed, as thanks to the support, the efficiency of agricultural production in Hungary can be further improved.

The appearance of a new call would significantly stimulate the willingness to invest

It would be useful, especially in the area of plow machines, if farmers were given support, so the transition to tillage without rotation could be accelerated. Sustainability was also the focus of the NAK Szántóföldi Days and Agricultural Machinery Show organized thanks to the cooperation between NAK and MEGFOSZ. Within the framework of the professional event held in Mezőfalva in June, farmers were able to get to know the most modern machines, tools and solutions that promote successful farming.
