Almost 98 percent of the winter barley was harvested in Zala County, and the harvest of winter wheat and seed peas began in the fields, the county president of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told MTI.

On barley fields of nearly 6,000 hectares, an average of 5.5 tons of crops were harvested per hectare, 0.2 tons more than last year. The average yield of harvested winter wheat was 0.5 tons higher than last year’s average: 10 percent of the 24,328-hectare sown area was harvested, and the average yield per hectare was 6.8 tons, explained Sabján Krisztián. He added that, according to preliminary estimates, 2.8 tonnes per hectare of rapeseed produced on 13,644 hectares are expected. (MTI)
