A rally that is about cooperation – for the 16th time
Just like last year, the Coca-Cola HBC Magyarország Kft. team won the Coop Rally. On 7-8 September the driver teams visited locations in Heves, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hajdú-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties.
The participants of the rally represent a HUF 2,200bn combined sales revenue in Hungarian FMCG retail, and they employ more than 30,000 people. Minister of Agriculture Dr István Nagy was the chief patron of the event.
At the rally’s closing ceremony on 8 September, state secretary of food and retail policy Márton Nobilis told: the government considers the food industry to be a strategic sector, as the Covid pandemic, the energy crisis, the Russia-Ukraine war and the drought all made it clear how important its safe operation is.
László Pekó, chairman of Co-op Hungary Zrt.’s board of directors spoke about the importance of cooperation in difficult times like this, when there are economic problems and life is full of challenges. It was at the Recsk stop of the rally that the retailer introduced its new store format, Szuper Plusz – there are 42 of these at the moment. With this year’s programmes, the rally promoted 135 companies, enjoying the support of basically the full FMCG sector. //
