Agroloop is among the greenest companies in the country
The “companies of the future” and the country’s most decisive green projects were awarded at the second Sustainable World conference. At the large-scale awards ceremony, the most innovative sustainability-minded companies were announced in a total of five categories – the winners of the Green Awards. This year’s professional jury voted Agroloop as the winner of the Green Innovation of the Year category, which uses insect breeding for feed purposes to reduce environmental impact and promotes the preservation of animal health with locally produced solutions.
As the Earth’s population grows, more and more food and especially protein sources will be needed in the coming decades. At the same time, the number of pets kept in homes is constantly increasing, and even today they consume 25% of the meat produced in the world. Not to mention that the arable land area is decreasing, while 80% of crop production is grown for the purpose of feeding farm animals. The problem is compounded by the fact that the European Union imports 75% of the amount of protein used, which means a huge exposure for the EU and our country.
Agroloop offers a long-term, sustainable solution to this problem, which won the Green Innovation of the Year award at the Portfolio Green Awards on September 12, 2023, in Budapest.
