The production of greenhouse vegetables in Russia has increased by eight percent, so the intensive development of the sector continues due to the increasing yields – agrarszektor.hu wrote. At the same time, the utilization of the production capacity of the modern greenhouse complexes built in 2019-2020 also plays an important role in the growth.

Greenhouse vegetable growing increases in Russia

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, since the beginning of 2021, the harvest of greenhouse vegetables in Russia has increased by 8 percent, compared to the same period in 2020, reaching 1 million tons. According to the ministry, the harvest of cucumbers was 580 thousand tons (+ 1.7%), tomatoes – 400 thousand tons (+ 19.1%). The positive dynamics of the industry are expected to continue until the end of 2021. The greenhouses are forecast to exceed 1.4 million tons with the fall-winter harvest, the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) wrote. (agrarszektor.hu)
