Most organic farms produce grass
As the result of the ecological tender announced in 2015, the size of the organic farms increased by 48 percent in a single year – agrarszektor.hu wrote. Nevertheless, the proportion of these is still low in Hungary, and still less the value produced.
According to the 2016 report of Biokontroll Hungária Nonprofit Kft., about 170,000 hectares of land of a total of 2984 companies were checked in 2016, with approximately half of them have already converted and undergoing the change. Let’s note: we are talking about only 3 percent of the Hungarian production area. (Gönczi Krisztina, agrarszektor.hu)
