MNB proposals to boost credit card use
The National Bank of Hungary (NBH) has developed a three plus one-piece package of proposals to boost the domestic debit card use for expansion of the credit card market – Varga Roland, the Bank's cash flow consultant told in Budapest on Tuesday at a professional forum, which was held by the Napi Gazdaság daily newspaper on the future of the Hungarian debit card market.
According to the expert of the central bank, the charges on domestic transactions should be reduced in order to reach an expansion in card payments as well as to support the widespread of POS terminals to provide national coverage. In addition, in certain sectors of the economy, mandatory acceptance of credit cards could be introduced. (MTI)
