248 enterprises participated in the MKIK’s sustainability entrepreneurship attitude formation program
The sub-program aimed at forming a sustainable entrepreneurial attitude has been concluded, in which 248 enterprises and 46 mentor companies participated; according to the plans, the program will continue – said the professional manager of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (MKIK) national mentoring program at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
Balázs Mezősi added that the sub-program was implemented as part of the national entrepreneurial mentoring program, thanks to which 3,000 businesses were able to develop. He reminded that the national entrepreneur mentor program started in 2018, and the mentoring services started between 2020 and 2022: a service to help you become a supplier, access to foreign markets, and mentoring to help you become a financial and entrepreneur. They arrived this year to start a sustainability service, because they believed that sustainability plays a key role in preparing a 21st century business.
Balázs Mezősi stated that there is no longer any question that sustainability must be dealt with
This is a joint task in which businesses – even the smallest ones – must take responsibility. Among the services provided in the sustainability entrepreneurship attitude-shaping subprogram, he mentioned the Sustainability Handbook available as an e-book, company visits to the mentor companies, as well as the preparation of a sustainability action plan for the companies and group mentoring. Balázs Mezősi also mentioned that the companies that completed the free program received a certificate.
Katalin Szili, the founder and honorary president of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NFFT), called the sub-program important
He emphasized the need to support SMEs so that they can remain truly competitive. He said about the importance of sustainability: this year, July 28 was the day of global overshoot, which means that by the end of July the world has already consumed the amount of resources available for this year.
