The “Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year 2025” awards were presented on Innovation Day
This year marked the fifth edition of the Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year competition, initiated by Trade magazin. As in previous years, the award ceremony was accompanied by a full-day professional conference. The highly successful Innovation Day event, dedicated to celebrating innovation, took place on May 15 at Lurdy Ház.

The proud winners of this year’s Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year competition
The title and motto of this year’s Innovation Day conference were clearly confirmed by attendees: “A successful future lies in today’s innovations!” The full-day event featured exciting professional presentations and discussions that highlighted both domestic and international innovation trends, current developments and characteristics from the perspectives of manufacturers and retailers. Topics included directions pointing to the future, the growing presence of AI, the continued rise of free-from products, regulatory updates, and generational challenges. The day was crowned by the Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year 2025 award ceremony.
Awards, special recognition and Best of the Best
The goal of the competition has remained unchanged over the past five years: to reward value-creating innovations that meet identifiable consumer or customer needs, align with clear trends, or result from improvements inspired by specific, existing demands.
Based on the Jury’s decision, the best entries once again received the “Best of the Best” award, and for the first time, a special prize was also handed out.

The top three Best of the Best awards went to Living Food, FineSzes Food and Bunge
7 categories, 27 winners
This year’s competition received 40 entries across 7 categories. Every application that received at least a 70% score from the Jury – based on both online and sensory evaluation, considering innovation content, trend alignment, market advantages, interim results and commercial potential – was awarded the Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year title, a certificate, and the right to use the logo.
Altogether, 27 applications emerged as winners. These innovations were launched on the market between January 1 and December 31, 2024, and offered outstanding novelty within their respective categories.

Out of the 40 submitted entries, 27 received awards
Entries were submitted according to the announced main categories, with “free-from” products judged in a separate category. Both manufacturer and retail brands were represented. Submissions targeted both B2B and B2C audiences. This year, two new categories were introduced: best products in Household Tools and Personal Hygiene were also awarded.
For the first time, the winning products and services were showcased on-site. This initiative aimed to give conference attendees the opportunity to explore the awarded innovations firsthand.

In 2025, the winning entries were also exhibited
A full report on the Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year 2025 award ceremony and the Innovation Day event will be published in Trade magazin issues 2025/6-7 and 2025/8-9.
