The European Commission is urging further EU action to protect pollinators
The European Commission says that further EU action is needed to protect pollinators, as one in ten bee and butterfly species is still on the verge of extinction and one-third are declining in Europe, the EU commission said in a report on Thursday.
In its report on the implementation of the first EU pollinator initiative, the European Commission stated that the initiative had proved to be a useful policy tool, enabling the European Union, Member States and stakeholders to address the issue of pollinator destruction. (MTI)
