Coca-Cola HBC Magyarország is launching its largest investment in the last sixteen years in Dunaharaszti
The largest soft drink company in the country is developing its production and logistics capacities for a total of about 23 million euros (~8.7 billion forints). Coca-Cola HBC Hungary will expand its Dunaharaszt headquarters with a new production hall by the end of the year, in which the company will install a high-performance, modern production line, and to support the increased production capacity, it will carry out improvements to increase loading and storage performance. Thanks to the investments, the company proves its commitment to the Hungarian market and takes another significant step towards the Dunaharaszt plant becoming the Central European production base of the Coca-Cola HBC Group.
Since 1996, Coca-Cola HBC Hungary has been continuously developing its production activities in accordance with the needs of the domestic and international markets. In the past 27 years, the company has made several large-scale investments, as a result of which it now has 2 production units and 8 logistics distribution centers – including Hungary’s largest food industry warehouse – and can be regarded as the country’s largest producer of soft drinks. The company pays special attention to the development and modernization of the production unit in Dunaharaszt, since not only the entire Hungarian market, but also 17 export countries are largely supplied with products from here. The current capacity expansion investment is the second most significant development in Dunaharaszti after the installation of the second aseptic production line (producing non-carbonated products) in 2007, the value of which reached 27 million euros (~10.2 billion forints).
The imminent developments were brought to life by growing market demands, so it has now become clear that a new one is needed in addition to the current two production lines producing carbonated soft drinks. The planning of the investment began in 2020, and two years later, the installation of the new production line and the construction of the related production hall, as well as the implementation of logistics and other infrastructural developments intended to support the increased production volume, received approval. Construction work began in February 2023, handover is expected in November.
