Does foodwaste problem to mask the new surrender law?
According to a document, the set back of food waste can be a false pretense to make the biggest grocery chains’ situation harder. Based on an almost impractical surrender rule, grocery chains should offer products which are close to their expiration day to the Hungarian state. Besides, retailer tax would also be raised by the government, Telex reported.
There has been a rumour for weeks about a ’shocking plan’ by the government. It plans to a change of laws which would make the situation of retailers selling more than 100 billion forints worth FMCG (Aldi, Auchan, Lidl, Penny Market, Spar, Tesco) very difficult.
