Food safety starts with the soil, the plant, and the plant product
Hungary, as a traditional agricultural country, has a particularly important part of its agricultural activities in plant protection – stated Márton Nobilis, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture responsible for the food industry and trade policy at the XVII. The state secretary emphasized that the role of the plant protection specialist and the responsibility affecting all segments of the food chain are of fundamental importance. The professional cooperation of the employees and the joint application of integrated plant protection methods are necessary in the areas where plant products are produced. The Ministry of Agriculture is committed to moderate use of pesticides, which is mandatory in our country. He added that social protection, the protection of wildlife and nature is a constantly growing social expectation of farmers and producers. The Ministry of Agriculture supports the widest possible availability of plant protection technology that can be used safely for farmers, in order to ensure a safe food supply – emphasized Márton Nobilis.
