The tax authority is asking companies for their opinions on electronic invoicing and real-time digital data provision
According to the information, the project owner of the package on the Hungarian side is the Ministry of National Economy (NGM), the professional participant is the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV), while the project is supported by KPMG Consulting Ltd. as a consultant.
The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of the operational, technological and organizational conditions necessary for the introduction of ViDA, and to determine the steps necessary to ensure its long-term sustainability. As part of the project, KPMG is conducting a questionnaire survey among taxpayers and organizations providing services related to tax, accounting and other invoice issuance and acceptance.
Among the key objectives of the ViDA package, it requires mandatory electronic invoicing for intra-community transactions between companies (between companies established in different EU member states) from 2030. It also requires real-time data provision on these electronic invoices from 2030. The package defines a uniform definition and standards for electronic invoices at EU level. Due to the mandatory definition, only invoices issued in a structured format will be considered electronic invoices, they wrote.
