The Auchan gives the price advantage from the pork VAT to the customers
The VAT reduction on pork came into force on 1 January 2016. As a result, customers from January can buy the pork products 17.32% cheaper. The Auchan gives 100% of the price advantage generated from the VAT reduction to the customers.
The VAT reduction affects 100% pork, so as a result, the custmers have access to the following products with 5% VAT in the stores: mangalica meats, pork and mangalica minced meat, spices packed spare ribs and pork meat.
At Auchan a total of about 6,000 tons of pork is consumed annually, and due to the effect of the VAT reduction the Auchan expects a further increase in pork consumption. Since 1 January 2016, 12.5 percent more pork meat was sold than in the same period of 2015.
