The subsidies used in agriculture serve to strengthen the countryside
In the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, which also includes the transition years of the Common Agricultural Policy, the Ministry of Agriculture awarded a total of HUF 3,316 billion in support to the beneficiaries through the Rural Development Program, announced Minister of Agriculture István Nagy at the handover of an agricultural logistics center in Nyírvasvári.

The minister explained that the Ministry of Agriculture is working with all its might on the renewal of the countryside, and in this work not only the resources belonging to the ministry provide assistance, and partners are not only found in farmers and producers, but also the resources of the Regional and Urban Development Operational Program (TOP) are available. they stand In addition, a good number of municipalities also make efforts to develop the local economy. An example of this partnership is Nyírvasvári, where the local authority successfully applied within the framework of the TOP for the implementation of agricultural logistics developments that help local products reach the market, he added. István Nagy pointed out that this investment provides local producers with the opportunity to not immediately sell their products, even at depressed prices, but to “time” the trade by taking advantage of the opportunities provided by storage. The warehouse base also provides an opportunity to increase production, and farmers can thus break into markets that have been closed to them with larger quantities. The head of the ministry also spoke about how the agenda was prepared in connection with the implementation of the Hungarian Strategic Plan for the use of EU agricultural resources based on the new Common Agricultural Policy.

The first tender package for agricultural and food industry investments can be opened in the spring, which includes calls to support investments in the food industry, feed industry, horticulture and animal husbandry, he added. He emphasized that the prudent and well-prepared use of resources of a historic scale will be sufficient to achieve our set goals: to increase added value, to strengthen the sustainability of Hungarian food production, to achieve domestic economic and rural development goals, and at the same time to meet the EU’s green expectations.
