The amount of the investment reaches HUF 6 billion, for which the government provided HUF 1.7 billion in non-reimbursable support within the framework of the Rural Development Program. With the development, 80 new jobs were created – the Minister of Agriculture said on the occasion of the handover.
István Nagy explained that almost 7,300 supporting decisions were made in the horticulture sector, amounting to HUF 190 billion
The subsidies facilitated the construction and modernization of 800,000 square meters of greenhouses and 465,000 square meters of foil houses. This means a total of 1.26 million square meters of capacity for propagating crops. Within the framework of the Rural Development Program, about 452,000 cubic meters of cold storage was built, and an ice net protection system was built on about 900 hectares, 280 systems to prevent spring frost damage were purchased, and the range of machines that can be put into production has been expanded with almost 14,000 harvesters, power machines, tractors and gardening tools – he detailed. the minister.
Zsolt Bindics, the president of the GreenCoop group, told MTI that Ács Termál-Kertészet Kft. is jointly owned by the members of the Slovak-Hungarian producer group
The GreenCoop group built the first greenhouse in Csallóközaranyos 20 years ago, today they have four facilities in Slovakia, and are present in Ács and Győr in Hungary. The group’s 500 employees produce 10 million kilograms of tomatoes. The company heats all its greenhouses with geothermal energy and uses solar panels, so 98 percent of their energy needs come from renewable sources. During the winter period, due to the lack of natural lighting, they do not grow fruit, and the 120 employees of their logistics center then deal with the wholesale trade of vegetables and fruits, the president explained. Zsolt Bindics said that the carpentry investment will pay for itself after 10 years, but top performance must be provided for this. The total annual sales revenue of the company group is 40 million euros.
