The HoReCa Heroes 2023 awards were presented
On 25 September the HoReCa Heroes Awards were presented to the sector’s crisis-resilient actors at the Business Days conference.
The HoReCa and Event Chapter of the Hungarian Marketing Association (MMSZ) and Trade magazin founded the award in 2021. Back then they were trying to find those businesses in the sector that managed to save what could be saved during the coronavirus pandemic, using some kind of special solution: their colleagues, the community, their service itself or simply helping others. This year the biannual competition focused on solutions from those who had come up with exemplary answers to the economic challenges of the past few years.
The scheme involves no recommendation, so HoReCa units could enter the competition themselves and the entries were judged by the members of MMSZ’s HoReCa and Event Chapter in the categories announced.
The award ceremony took place on the HoReCa day of the 5-day Business Days conference (businessdays.hu) – the biggest trade event of the FMCG market – in Tapolca on 25 September.
“Now that the economic problems have created a challenging period for companies in the HoReCa sector, and in many cases these businesses have once again found themselves in an impossible situation, temporarily or even permanently, it is worth looking back and collecting the positive examples”,
says Krisztina Bódi, president of the HoReCa and Event Chapter of the Hungarian Marketing Association.
“We founded the HoReCa Heroes Award together with Trade magazin two years ago, to recognise the efforts of those who are at the forefront in such situations. With this award we would like to call attention to their ideas and best practices, and at the same time congratulate them on their success”.
“It has become a tradition by now that on the first day of the Business Days conference, we pay special attention to the latest developments in the HoReCa sector. Every year manufacturers, wholesalers and HoReCa market players meet to listen to and discuss exclusive research results and the reports of professional organisations. We are particularly pleased to have participants from basically each and every area of the sector, and their number is increasing year after year. We are honoured to welcome the HoReCa Heroes every second year and to congratulate them on their ideas, which distinguish them from competitors and strengthen the loyalty of their guests, or sometimes even find the solution to economic challenges”,
says Zsuzsanna Hermann, organiser of the Business Days conference and Trade magazin’s CEO and editor-in-chief.
