AM: sunflowers achieved a record yield for this year
Harvesting sunflowers has reached a historic record of 3.01 tonnes per hectare at the end of October – the Ministry of Agriculture told MTI on Tuesday.
The yield per hectare is also among the first in the world, although the total volume of 1.69 million tonnes is slightly behind last year’s due to a 9-10 percent reduction in harvested area. Out of the counties, farmers in Fejér, Baranya, Hajdú-Bihar and Békés achieved above-average yields of 3.2 tons per hectare – the Ministry wrote. (MTI)
