AM: irrigation and digitalisation also increase competitiveness
Strengthening the livestock sector, spreading digitization and increasing irrigated areas are also needed to increase agricultural performance – Farkas Sándor, parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture said at a farm forum in Jászapáti, according to a statement from the ministry.
He emphasized that although the food output of Hungarian agriculture could provide up to 25 million people with healthy, safe food, it can currently supply 15 million people.
In the coming years, the agricultural government must work to strengthen the farming community. This requires a secure, predictable production environment, a supportive policy and profitable management – stressed the Secretary of State. (MTI)
