AM: bread occupies a prominent place in the food industry
In the food industry, more than 3,900 companies produce in 33 branches. Among them, bread has a prominent place, because it is one of the most basic foods – stated Márton Nobilis, the state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture responsible for the food industry and economic policy, at the General Assembly of the Hungarian Bakers’ Association in Esztergom – the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) announced on Saturday.

Food security is a challenge
According to the announcement, food security challenges unseen for decades are occurring in many parts of the world, but in Hungary, the crisis resistance of the sector is proven by the fact that Hungarian agriculture has ensured the supply of high-quality, safe food to the population, while output and agricultural exports increased.
To remain competitive in the medium and long term, the modernization of the sector is essential.
In the next period, significant political tools will help the renewal of the agricultural economy. As a result of the developments, the sector’s competitiveness and input efficiency will further increase, which contributes to the management of most of the challenges, he added
– explained the state secretary.
