Minister of State launches campaign to encourage sheep, goat and dairy products
The government is launching a campaign to encourage sheep and goat meat and dairy products consumption to target products from the highly export-oriented sector to Hungarian consumers as well – the Minister of State responsible for agriculture said in Budaörs on Wednesday.
Feldman Zsolt said at a campaign launch event at the Auchan store, which included a gastronomic show, that sheep keeping would provide the livelihood of 8300 breeders. Europe is not self-sufficient in sheep breeding and needs to be imported, so the Hungarian economy has opportunities in this area, as evidenced by the fact that live sheep worth 40 million euros have left the country in the last three quarters – Feldman Zsolt added.
