As a result of the declining tourism and hospitality due to the coronavirus pandemic, winemakers submitted grant application in a value of 2.2 billion HUF to the Ministry of Agriculture, supplementing the original 1.8 billion HUF budget with 400 million HUF the Secretary of State responsible for Agriculture and Rural Development announced on Thursday in Etyek.
Feldman Zsolt pointed out for the second time at a champagne conference entitled Thoughts Around the Bubble that in recent months, many premium wine and champagne producers have lost revenue due to the pandemic, so they could apply for special support. More than 700 winemakers demanded 2.2 billion forints, which is why the budget was supplemented so that they could provide full support to the profession, he added. (MTI)
