AM: the basis of successful agriculture is a sustainable food industry
Agriculture has always had a strong culture in Hungary, and today successful agricultural countries can be those where the food industry is also successful – said Márton Nobilis at the opening of the Clever Food exhibition on Wednesday at the Hungarian Agricultural Museum, according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture (AM).
The final product is one of the most important parts of the food industry, which is why it is important that the government thinks about the food industry in such a way that it needs to be supported – pointed out the state secretary of the AM responsible for food economy and agricultural vocational training.
He added,
we have to pay attention to the protection of our environment and to ensure that the least amount of food remains ends up in the trash.
Márton Nobilis reminded that the Hungarian government and Nébih were among the first in the European Union to start dealing with this topic. In 2016, the “Without Leftovers” program was also introduced, thanks to which the amount of food thrown away in Hungary decreased by 27 percent, they wrote.
The State Secretary praised the organizers in relation to the Clever Food exhibition. According to his words, a modern exhibition has been created that can take its place anywhere in the world.
He emphasized that we have reason to be proud, as we are ahead of the curve in the European Union on this issue, the AM announced.
