Dreamy – sonorous headline, or does it really exist?
In a dream workplace, we feel good most of the time, we are valued financially and professionally, we are entrusted with tasks that match our abilities, and our personal life does not affect work either. A recent survey of active employees by SkillX Technologies Zrt. revealed that a significant number of Hungarians are still chasing this dream, as the majority of them do not work in their most satisfying job. Up to half of the respondents would change jobs in the next year, which clearly indicates the need for change.
Almost a third of the survey respondents (34%) plan to change jobs in the next year, but another third (30.3%) are also considering changing jobs. These numbers show that a significant number of employees are not satisfied with their current position and are actively seeking change. “This can be a shocking figure for employers, as up to 5-6 out of 10 people may resign in the next year if the current workplace is not able to provide an ideal environment for personal and professional development”. – László Marosi, CEO of SkillX, explained the data.
Higher salary is still at the top of the ranking as the main reason for changing jobs – looking for a dream job – but better work-life balance and development opportunities can also be important factors. The majority of employees (65%) believe that they will only feel good at work if they are doing what they love. In a similar proportion, the respondents also believe that the statement that participation in continuous training is in the same interest of both parties is true. This demand also puts pressure on employers to create a work environment that encourages the development and growth of employees.
