Agricultural prices falling permanently
The average price of agricultural products was down by 22.3 percent in November 2008, compared to 2007. The price of plant products was down by 39.6 percent, while that of livestock and animal products was up by 4.1 percent. In the January-November 2008 period, average agricultural price was down by 1.2 percent compared to the same period in 2007. Grain price was down by 46 percent, compared to November 2007. The price of oil plants was down by 13.4 percent, while that of potato was down by 27.9 percent. The price of vegetables dropped by 5.5 percent. The price of fruits was down by 62.3 percent, mainly as a result of a 79.4 percent drop in the price of apple and a 30,4 percent droop in the price of wine grape. The average price of livestock was up by 11.1 percent in November 2008, mainly owing to a 25.1 percent rise in the price of swine. The average price of animal products was down by 6.1 percent, including a 9.5 percent drop in the price of milk. Average grain price was down by 20.8 percent in the January-November 2008 period, compared to 2007, while that of industrial plants was up by 10.2 percent. In the same period, the average price of livestock was up by 14.5 percent. The average price of animal products was up by 15.3 percent.
