We might drink from 80 years old aluminum cans
Unbelievable but true: 75% of the aluminum cans produced and marketed ever are still in circulation, because it is constantly being recycled. So in the raw material of the cans of the soft drinks we drink today, a significant proportion is from the time of our parents and grandparents.
“The high recycling rate of aluminum cans can only be achieved with the continuous education of the population and with the efficient operation of the selective collection systems” – Duma László, executive director of the Returcom Nonprofit Kft. said “The selective collection of waste in Hungary has greatly improved in recent years, but the population's environmental awareness is still low. In Hungary only 30-50% of the aluminum cans are re-collected, in contrast in the developed EU countries, this ratio is 75-80%”- he added.
