Despite lower beer sales, Heineken increased its income
Dutch beer industry group Heineken reported an increase in its revenue in the third quarter on Wednesday, despite a decrease in its sales volume.
Heineken Holding N.V. the Dutch holding company of the international beer industry group achieved sales revenue of 9.6 billion euros in the third quarter, 2.0 percent more than a year earlier. Adjusted for non-recurring items and exchange rate effects, its revenue increased by 4.5 percent to 8.01 billion euros.
The volume sold was 63.2 million hectoliters in the third quarter, 5.4 percent less than a year earlier, and 4.2 percent less on a comparable basis.
Heineken’s revenue in the first nine months of this year was 27.04 billion euros, 4.7 percent more than a year earlier. Adjusted for non-recurring items, it earned EUR 22.52 billion in revenue, an increase of 5.8 percent.
