The new generation
The new presidency of the guild has created the Youth Group of the Guild, the foundation of which was the sweeTEN programme. Our magazine asked vice president Balázs Ipacs about sweeTEN and its results.

The Guild of Hungarian Confectioners
sweeTEN is a pilot programme that was established to teach new knowledge and skills to talented young confectioners – it is Éva Vojtek’s project. The Guild of Hungarian Confectioners selected confectioners younger than 30 years for participation, who have been working in the trade for minimum one year, producing very good results. With this programme we try to keep young talents motivated.
There is nothing like the sweeTEN project in the trade: with these young confectioners working together, a group can be formed within the new generation that will have the potential to lay the groundwork for the trade’s renewal and modernisation. Hopefully their results will inspire those starting their careers to join this special workshop.
I have the feeling that the work done in the project creates real value. sweeTEN ensures the professional progress of participants. For instance two confectioners from this year’s Cake of Hungary TOP 5 were sweeTEN participants!
The sweeTEN project has already come to an end, but the youth group has already held a formation meeting in Mány. Next time members will meet in Zirc at the end of September, thanks to Éva Vojtek’s organisation work.
