They reported that the weather was typically dry in the second half of last week, but a wet air wave arrived on Monday, from which rain fell mostly between 1-5 millimeters across the country until Tuesday evening; 5-10 millimeters fell in the southwest, while 10-20 millimeters fell in the north. The upper one-meter soil layer was close to saturation in most places by the end of March, but since then the layer near the surface has dried a lot. On Tuesday, this layer was wet again in the north, and in most parts of the country, abundant moisture is still available to plants under the top dry 5-15 centimeters. The temperature has varied widely over the past 6-8 days: on Friday morning, it dropped below freezing, mainly in the east and south, but by the end of the week, a significant easing began, and on Sunday the air had warmed up to 19-23 degrees Celsius. The southerly flow brought peak values of 23-27 degrees on Wednesday. The soil temperature measured at 5 centimeters is between 12-15 degrees.
The spring development of autumn sowings is progressing well due to favorable temperatures and soil moisture
Rapeseed is blooming, wheat is in the development phase of starting to stalk. Temperature conditions are already favorable for the sowing and early development of corn and sunflower, but the soil layer near the surface is too dry in many places, but the incoming, abundant precipitation and warm weather in many places will be favorable for the germination and development of seeds that have already been sown. Apricots and almonds have blossomed across the country, while peaches, cherries, sour cherries, plums and apples are now blooming in many places, for which the warm weather is favorable.
According to the forecast, nationwide precipitation is expected mainly on Thursday night and Friday
The thunderstorms may be accompanied by gusty winds, ice and large amounts of precipitation in a short time. Sunny weather is expected from Saturday, and scattered showers and thunderstorms may develop again from Tuesday next week. By the middle of next week, an average of 5-30 millimeters of precipitation is likely, with great regional variability, with the largest amount likely between the Danube and Tisza rivers. The southerly wind is often accompanied by strong, locally strong gusts of wind in several directions. The daytime temperature will drop on Friday due to precipitation, and from Saturday until the middle of next week it will mostly be around 20-25 degrees in sunny weather, with the soil temperature around 15 degrees in the upper 10 centimeters.
