Agricultural diplomacy negotiations during the Green Week in Berlin
Within the framework of the 88th Berlin Green Week and the World Agriculture and Food Forum, which was organized as part of it and took place with the participation of more than 70 countries, Zsolt Feldman representing Hungary, the State Secretary responsible for agriculture and rural development of the Ministry of Agriculture, strengthened our country’s international agricultural relations in the framework of numerous diplomatic meetings.
As part of the international food trade fair organized since 1926, this year 1,400 exhibitors from 61 countries presented their food and products belonging to other sectors of the agricultural economy to about 300,000 visitors. The Hungarian companies participating in the event are returning exhibitors of the event. Their products – trumpet cakes, hot cakes, pickles, meat products, game products, chocolates, gray beef products – are very popular among the fair’s visitors.
On the sidelines of the fair, Zsolt Feldman held talks on the German side with the Baden-Württemberg Minister of Agriculture and the Uzbek minister
The negotiations were aimed at deepening professional cooperation in agro-professional issues, in the fields of viticulture and winemaking, as well as the seed sector. Bilateral agricultural relations were further strengthened with the Bavarian Minister of Agriculture and the Deputy Head of Ministry of Georgia. German and Hungarian cooperation opportunities in agricultural technology were reviewed with the leaders of the German Agricultural Society, and an exchange of experience took place with the president of the German Raiffeisen Association on automated machine technologies that can be used in high-added-value vegetable and seed production and the practical results of their use.
