GfK’s German consumer sentiment index deteriorated more than expected by September

German consumer sentiment has deteriorated.
Among the components of the index, income expectations improved, but the value of the indicator increased by 1.5 points, compared to the previous month to 30.5 points in September. On the other hand, the value of the indicator quantifying consumers’ willingness to spend decreased by 4.5 points to 10.3 points, and the value of the indicator quantifying the assessment of the development of the economic environment fell by 13.8 points to 40.8 points.
