– The Demján Sándor programme for helping SMEs was launched several months ago. How many businesses have benefitted from it and which programmes are the most popular?
– So far the government has allocated more than HUF 1,000bn to more than 23,000 businesses. Because of the high level of interest, the government has decided to increase the HUF 48bn budget for the 1+1 support programme to HUF 130bn. There is surprisingly great interest in the capital financing programme, which is new for SMEs, and there is also outstanding demand for export promotion loans and preferential loans in the Széchenyi Card Programme.
– How open are SMEs to new forms of support and do they actually use them?
– SMEs are clearly receptive. From the programmes companies are particularly interested in digital development, export promotion and technology investment loans, which are key areas for future competitiveness.
– What do you think this year will be like for the SME sector and what can we expect next year? What else can the small business sector get help with in the future?
– This year is about strengthening confidence in the SME sector: thanks to support programmes, many are developing. Next year these investments will have a measurable economic impact, especially in terms of technological renewal, which could lay the foundations for sustained growth.
